AGE: 7-12

Primary School Education - concludes with the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE). This national examination assesses students’ readiness for secondary education based on a banding system. Students may also secure admissions based on other unique talents such as sports or the creative arts etc.

AGE: 13-16/17

Secondary School Education - Majority of students will be banded under 1 of these 3 categories: Express (G3), Normal (G2), Technical (G1) streams. These 4 years are split into Lower and Upper secondary (where students may choose from a pool of subjects that are more suited with their strengths). Secondary Education concludes with the Singapore-Cambridge GCE (O), N(A) and N(T) Level examinations.

AGE: 17-18/19

Tertiary Education - Majority of students will attend 1 of these 3 categories of institutions: Junior College (preparing for Singapore-Cambridge GCE (A) Level) , Polytechnic (preparing for Diploma) and Institute of Technical Education (ITE) - preparing for Technical Diploma. Students are graded based on Rank-point system in Junior College (max 90) and Grade Point Average/GPA (max 4.0) in Polytechnics and ITE - which will be used to apply for undergrad studies in University.

POST-GRADUATE

Majority of students at this point will enter the work-force. However there are many post-graduate programs offered at the 6 AUs that they can join too.
